I saw a shaft of sunlight coming through at 1900 GMT.
As there was only a small gap in the cloud, I decided on a binocular scan (with
my filters, of course!). I couldn’t see the whole disc but could make out a
single sunspot near the limb in the “11 o’clock” position. Unfortunately, the
gap soon closed and no further observation was possible.
