I was out for an evening session at 2200
GMT. It was nice to me reunited with my Mak (127mm Maksutov). Jupiter looked
nice at low power, with cloud belts showing clearly and the moons made a nice
pattern. I took some shots with my compact digital camera.
I then proceeded to webcam the planet, at high
brightness to capture the moons that were close in and other runs to capture
the planetary detail. I used a neutral density moon filter and this showed some
cloud belts. I also used the Trust webcam instead of the SPC, as it had
produced the best results on Jupiter to date.
I also did some widefield shots of the
overhead sky, Jupiter in Taurus and Gemini.
