Webcam Session

I went out at 2330 GMT to try my Startravel 80 with my SPC880 webcam with the main intention of trying it on the Pleiades but I was unable to obtain focus. I tried the Moon instead and it just fitted into the field of view, suggesting I could photograph about 40 arcminutes with the set-up. Focus was much harder than with the Mak. I also managed to snap Jupiter’s moons, showing 3 with one very close before the laptop battery ran out. Not surprisingly, I was unable to capture any planetary detail.

The lunar shot was rather good but the Jupiter image was too jerky to use.
